Arknights Endfield Gacha System: How Does Pity Works?

Arknights: Endfield introduces a new gacha system that's different from the original Arknights while keeping some familiar elements. The game features separate systems for characters (called Operators) and weapons, each with their own pity mechanics. Here's everything you need to know about how pity works in Arknights: Endfield.

What is Pity in Gacha Games?

Before diving into the details, let's explain what "pity" means for anyone new to gacha games. Pity is a safety net system that guarantees you'll get a high-rarity item after a certain number of pulls. This prevents extremely unlucky players from spending hundreds of pulls without getting anything good. In Arknights: Endfield, there are different types of pity for characters and weapons. Some pity counts carry over to the next banner, while others reset. Understanding which is which will help you plan your pulls better.

Arknights Endfield Character Gacha Rates

The character gacha uses a currency called Oroberyl. One single pull costs 500 Oroberyl, and a 10-pull costs 5,000 Oroberyl. The base rates for getting different rarity Operators are:

  • 6-Star Operators: 0.8%
  • 5-Star Operators: 8%
  • 4-Star Operators: 91.2%

These are the baseline chances before any pity systems kick in. As you can see, getting a 6-Star Operator is quite rare at less than 1% per pull. This is where the pity system becomes important.

How Does Pity Work in Arknights Endfield?

The Limited-Time Operator banner is where most players will spend their pulls. This banner features specific rate-up characters that are only available for a limited time. Here's how the pity system works:

Guaranteed 5-Star Every 10 pulls

Every 10 pulls on any character banner guarantees you at least one 5-Star Operator. This guarantee carries over between banners, so if you do 7 pulls on one banner and 3 pulls on the next banner, you'll get your guaranteed 5-Star on that third pull. When you get a 5-Star, there's a 50% chance it will be the featured 5-Star character on the banner, and a 50% chance it will be a different 5-Star.

Soft Pity at 65 Pulls

After 65 pulls without getting a 6-Star, the game activates "soft pity." This means your chances of getting a 6-Star increase by 5% with every additional pull. So at 66 pulls, your 6-Star chance becomes 5.8% instead of 0.8%. At 67 pulls, it becomes 10.8%, and so on. This soft pity continues stacking until you finally pull a 6-Star Operator. Once you get one, the counter resets back to zero and you start over.

Hard Pity at 80 pulls

If you reach 80 pulls without getting any 6-Star, you are guaranteed to get one on your 80th pull. However, this is where the 50/50 system comes in. There's a 50% chance you'll get the featured limited character, and a 50% chance you'll get a different 6-Star. This 80-pull guarantee carries over between banners. If you do 60 pulls on one banner without getting a 6-Star, then only need 20 more pulls on the next banner to hit your guaranteed 6-Star.

120-Pull Featured Character Guarantee

This is the ultimate safety net. At 120 pulls, you are guaranteed to get the featured limited 6-Star character on the banner. This guarantee only applies once per banner and does NOT carry over to the next banner. This means if you do 119 pulls on a banner without getting the featured character, those pulls reset to zero when the banner ends. You'll need to start from scratch on the next banner.

Unlike some other gacha games, there is no "guaranteed featured character on next 6-Star" system after losing the 50/50. Every 6-Star you pull before hitting 120 is always a 50/50 between the featured character and others. You could theoretically pull five 6-Stars before reaching 120 pulls and none of them be the featured character. The only way to guarantee the featured character is by reaching that 120-pull milestone.

Previous Limited Characters Stay Available

Here's something unique to Endfield: when a new limited character banner appears, the previous two limited characters remain in the pool. If you lose your 50/50 on the current banner, there's a chance you might get a limited character from one of the previous two banners instead of a standard character.

The breakdown works like this:

  • 50% chance for current featured character
  • 7.14% chance for each of the two previous limited characters (14.28% total)
  • 35.72% chance for standard pool characters

Dupe Guarantee at 240 Pulls

For whales or players who saved a ton of currency, there's an additional guarantee at 240 pulls. You'll get another copy (duplicate) of the rate-up character at 240 pulls. This repeats every 240 pulls, giving you multiple copies if you pull that much.

Free 10-pull reward

After doing 60 pulls on a limited banner, you receive a Headhunting Dossier. This gives you a free 10-pull for the next limited banner. You can only get this once per limited banner, and you must use it on the very next banner or it expires. You cannot save these for future banners.

Arknights Endfield Standard Banner Pity Explained

The standard banner works similarly but with a few differences.

Same Basic Rates and Soft Pity

The standard banner has the same drop rates as the limited banner (0.8% for 6-Star, 8% for 5-Star). Soft pity kicks in at 65 pulls with the same 5% increase per pull.

Hard Pity at 80 Pulls

At 80 pulls, you're guaranteed a 6-Star from the standard pool. Unlike the limited banner, there's no 50/50 here because all characters on the standard banner are permanent additions to the game.

Selector at 300 Pulls

After doing 300 total pulls on the standard banner, you can select any standard 6-Star character of your choice as a reward. This is a very long-term goal but guarantees you can eventually get your favorite standard character.

Beginner Discount

The New Horizons banner for new players offers a 20% discount on 10-pulls (4,000 Oroberyl instead of 5,000) and guarantees a 6-Star within 50 pulls. Once you get that 6-Star, this beginner banner disappears.

Arknights Endfield Weapon Gacha System

The weapon system works completely differently from character pulls. Instead of using Oroberyl directly, you use Arsenal Tickets.

How to Get Arsenal Tickets

You earn Arsenal Tickets by pulling characters:

  • 6-Star Operator: 2,000 Arsenal Tickets
  • 5-Star Operator: 200 Arsenal Tickets
  • 4-Star Operator: 20 Arsenal Tickets

Every 10-pull on the character banner guarantees at least one 5-Star and nine 4-Stars, which means you'll always get at least 380 Arsenal Tickets per 10-pull (200 from the 5-Star + 180 from nine 4-Stars).

You can also convert Oroberyl into Arsenal Tickets at a rate of 30 Oroberyl for 10 tickets, but this is generally not recommended. We will later add other ways of earning Arsenal Tickets as well.

Weapon Gacha Rates

The weapon banner has much better rates than the character banner:

  • 6-Star weapons: 4%
  • 5-Star weapons: 15%
  • 4-Star weapons: 81%

A 10-pull on the weapon banner costs 1,980 Arsenal Tickets. You cannot do single pulls on this banner—only 10-pulls are allowed.

How Does Weapon Banner Pity Work in Arknights Endfield

The weapon pity works differently from character pity:

Guaranteed 5-Star Every 10 Pulls

Every 10-pull guarantees at least one 5-Star weapon.

Guaranteed 6-Star Every 40 pulls

After 40 pulls on the weapon banner, you're guaranteed to get a 6-Star weapon. However, there's only a 25% chance it will be the featured weapon. You have a 75% chance of getting a different 6-Star weapon.

Guaranteed Featured Weapon at 80 Pulls

After pulling eight 6-Star weapons (which happens around 80 pulls if you're unlucky), you're guaranteed to get the featured weapon. However, this guarantee only works once per banner and does NOT carry over to the next weapon banner.

Unlike character pity, weapon pity does NOT carry over between banners. If you do 70 pulls on one weapon banner, those pulls reset to zero when a new weapon banner starts. This means you should only pull on weapon banners if you have enough tickets to reach your desired pity level.

Special Arms Offering System

There's an additional guarantee system at 100 pulls called Arms Offering. This gives you a selector that lets you pick any 6-Star weapon except the featured one. Then every 80 pulls after that alternates between giving you the featured weapon and another Arms Offering selector.

The cycle goes: 100 pulls (Arms Offering) → 180 pulls (featured weapon) → 260 pulls (Arms Offering) → 340 pulls (featured weapon), and so on.

You can also buy weapons directly from the shop using Arsenal Tickets instead of gambling. However, the featured limited weapons cannot be purchased directly and must be obtained through the weapon gacha. Standard weapons rotate through the shop and can be bought.

Best Tips for Arknights Endfield Gacha

For Character Banners

Save up 120 pulls before pulling on a limited banner if you want to guarantee getting the featured character. Pulling with less than 120 is risky unless you're okay with potentially missing the featured character. Your 80-pull pity carries over, so it's okay to build pity on one banner and use it on the next if you're close to 80 pulls.

Don't expect to get the featured character before 120 pulls unless you get lucky. The 50/50 system means you could pull multiple 6-Stars without getting the one you want.

For Weapon Banners

Only pull on weapon banners if you have enough Arsenal Tickets to reach a guarantee. Don't start pulling with 1,000 tickets when you need 1,980 for a single 10-pull.

Consider buying weapons directly from the shop instead of gambling if they're available for purchase. Save your Arsenal Tickets for weapons that match your favorite characters rather than pulling on every weapon banner.

Arknights: Endfield's gacha system is fairly standard for modern gacha games, with the 120-pull character guarantee being reasonable compared to some games that require 180 or more pulls. The weapon system's separate currency is player-friendly since you're not forced to choose between pulling for characters or weapons.

The biggest thing to remember is that the 120-pull guarantee doesn't carry over between character banners, so plan accordingly. For weapons, the lack of pity carryover means you should only commit to pulling if you can reach a guarantee milestone.

Overall, the pity system provides good safety nets for both free-to-play and paying players. Just make sure you understand which pity counts carry over and plan your pulls carefully to maximize your chances of getting the characters and weapons you want.
