Who is Wulfgard in Arknights Endfield?
Catello Wulfgard Luppino is a Landbreaker mercenary living on the fringes of the Civilization Band, now serving on the Crisis Team at Endfield Industries. Despite his youth, Wulfgard is already well-acquainted with the ficklest nature of humanity. But rather than breaking him, those experiences have given him a maturity far beyond his age.
He doesn't seek conflicts, and when in doubt, he prefers to avoid direct confrontation. He is also skilled in stealth and recon combat operations. To complete his mission, the mercenary can even travel with his foes and deal the lethal strike when the enemies least expect it. A member of the Landbreaker clan known as the Pack, Wulfgard can be a reliable and trustworthy friend if you manage to earn his trust. But that is no easy feat.

Clannibal is Wulfgard's signature weapon and his absolute best choice for both dedicated DPS and sub-DPS roles. It features perfectly tailored stats alongside an incredibly powerful weapon effect: whenever Wulfgard consumes an Arts Reaction with his enhanced Battle Skill, enemies become debuffed with substantial damage.
Rational Farewell serves as the next best alternative across most team compositions, though it represents a noticeable damage downgrade compared to Clannibal. Its passives are excellent for DPS Wulfgard and remain solid for his support damage build as well.
Long Road is the last resort option when you lack any of the stronger choices above.

Wulfgard offers two playstyles that require different team compositions to function effectively. The first approach positions him as a pseudo-Striker who leverages Combustion reactions, which requires an off-element operator to create the elemental combination needed to trigger Combustion.
The second playstyle uses Wulfgard as a Heat Infliction generator who enables other damage dealers rather than serving as the primary carry himself. In this role, he applies Heat stacks that teammates can consume or build upon.

How to Play Wulfgard
Wulfgard has two different playstyles depending on whether you build him as a support damage dealer or a main damage dealer.
As a sub DPS, your job is simple: use his Combo Skill whenever it's available to apply AoE Heat Infliction or trigger elemental reactions like Combustion. The Combo Skill is easy to activate since it only requires any Arts Infliction to be present on an enemy, making it work smoothly in most teams.
When you need extra Heat Infliction quickly, use Wulfgard's normal Battle Skill to apply single-target Heat stacks using SP. His Ultimate is useful for forcing Combustion onto enemies, which helps teammates who rely on that reaction or triggers his own damage bonuses. Use it either to enable your team's combos or as a damage boost when available.
As a DPS, Wulfgard's gameplay changes completely. Your goal is to spam his enhanced Battle Skill, which deals massive damage by consuming Combustion or Electrification from enemies. Use your Combo Skill alongside teammates' abilities to create Combustion reactions, then immediately consume those reactions with enhanced Battle Skills for huge bursts of damage.
His Ultimate becomes a tool for applying more Combustion, giving you more opportunities to use enhanced Battle Skills. This playstyle requires teammates who can apply the right elements, either off-element operators to create Combustion or specialized Heat operators who can apply it themselves.
The core loop is simple: create reactions, consume them with enhanced Battle Skills, repeat for maximum damage output.
