Who is Ember in Arknights Endfield?

Ember's real name is Azrila, and she's a knight wandering in the North who once served in an assault banner of the Order of Steel Oath. She saw active combat on the northern front fighting against the Aggeloi before returning to the Civilization Band. As an act of redemption, Ember has embarked on a long and difficult personal Crusade where she swore an oath to defeat ten thousand Aggeloi and Blightmorphs.
When she returned to the Civilization Band, she was managing the posthumous affairs of her late comrades and recruiting new soldiers. Following a recommendation from Order Castellan Gerald "The Sanctified" Zasso, Ember began collaborating with Endfield Industries and carrying out various operations on their behalf. She's guided by her commitment to the Final Tribulation and accepted the invitation to join Endfield Industries.
As a veteran who spent years on the battlefield, Ember isn't skilled at talking with others in casual conversation. However, if someone starts discussing combat techniques with her, she'll give honest descriptions of her experiences and the battles she fought. To most people though, these experiences sound like wild and unbelievable stories.
Ember chose her codename herself and admits she's still not ready to return to the northern front. She says that before her personal Crusade is done, she has no place to return to and no one she wishes to see. But as long as there's a chance to burn, Ember will reignite the flames. Her blade was cast and honed by the Northern frost, and she hopes the southern sun hasn't softened its edge.

Ember Best Weapons in Arknights Endfield
Sundered Prince is Ember's offensive weapon of choice when you plan to keep her on-field. It boosts attack and Strength while providing two critical offensive effects - increased Final Strike damage and stagger. If you're actively controlling Ember and landing those Final Strikes, this weapon outperforms the defensive alternatives.
Thunderberge is Ember's weapon choice focused purely on defense. It stacks Max HP and directly increases all shield values by 38.4%. When Ember heals with her Combo Skill, this weapon also grants the controlled operator an additional shield based on Ember's Max HP for 15 seconds.
Finishing Call maxes out Ember's healing potential. It provides Max HP and Strength, plus a huge 56% boost to Combo Skill healing.

Ember Best Team Comps in Arknights Endfield
Ember is the definition of a flex pick. She doesn't need specific team archetypes to function - just slot her into any composition that needs sustain. Her Combo Skill heals when the controlled operator takes damage, her Ultimate shields the entire team, and she applies Vulnerable stacks for free through Knock Down. This makes her work in basically everything.
Physical teams value her most because Vulnerable stacks are crucial for their damage output. She applies these stacks automatically with both Battle and Combo Skills without consuming resources. However, Arts teams can still use her for pure sustain - the shields and healing work regardless of team element.

How to Play Ember in Arknights Endfield
Ember plays from the sidelines as a reactive support. Her entire kit revolves around responding to enemy aggression rather than proactively attacking. Understanding this defensive playstyle is key to using her effectively.
Her talent gives her stacking attack buffs when taking damage from enemies - up to three stacks giving 9% attack each for 7 seconds. Another talent grants 50% damage reduction when casting Battle or Combo Skills, making her extremely hard to interrupt or kill during these animations.
The core mechanic is her Combo Skill, which triggers automatically when the controlled operator gets attacked. Ember leaps to the target enemy, slams down dealing Physical damage and applying Knock Down (which creates Vulnerable stacks), then heals the controlled operator. The heal scales with Will, making this stat important for maximizing her sustain. This automatic response means you don't need to actively control Ember - she reacts to damage for you.
Her Battle Skill costs 100 SP and makes Ember leap forward with a heavy slam, dealing Heat damage and applying Knock Down with big stagger. If Ember takes damage from enemies during the cast animation, the slam deals even more stagger when it lands. Thanks to her 50% damage reduction during this skill, you can deliberately tank hits to boost the stagger output.
The Ultimate costs only 100 energy (very cheap) and slams the ground for Heat damage while granting every teammate a shield based on Ember's Max HP. Use this on cooldown to keep team shields rolling. The short cooldown and low cost mean you can ult frequently throughout fights.
Here's the reality about playing Ember on-field - she has some of the slowest attack speed in the game. Landing Final Strikes without getting interrupted is genuinely difficult, making her awkward as an active character despite having high Final Strike stagger values. She functions much better off-field where her Combo triggers automatically and you can swap in just to use Ultimate.
Basic gameplan: Keep Ember off-field. Let her Combo trigger when allies take damage, healing them and applying Vulnerable. Use Ultimate on cooldown for team shields. Swap to her briefly if you need to manually trigger Battle Skill for extra stagger or Vulnerable stacks. Swap back out immediately.
